| This castle didn't even get a star in Michelin, but
it is one of our favorites. It features the deepest well in central
Europe, dug by hand by Turkish prisoners of war. The museum inside
includes a field tent from a Turkish commander from the siege of 1683.
Also, a fascinating collection of ivory carvings. It also has one of the
better collections of armor. The castle is extremely picturesque. If you are near Eisenstadt, don't
miss this! |
